The 3 Day Weekend that Wasn't

Happy Monday lovelies! I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend! Remember how excited I was about my three day weekend when I blogged on Friday? didn't go quite as planned.

On Friday, I had a doctor's appointment in Murray Hill. It went pretty well and I've been referred for some minor surgery after the wedding. Then, I took the train down to the West Village to pick up a dress I'd fallen in love with at a boutique in Hoboken that didn't have it in my size. I'm currently hunting for honeymoon clothes. I'm going to have to post some pics of my recent spring purchases.

Then, I went back to Hoboken and waited on my dress to arrive. Which it did!

Of course, I can't open the box until next Saturday at my fitting. Its some shipping insurance rule. Then, I noticed my throat felt really sore and I had the start of the headache. I ran some errands and made some relaxing comfort food for dinner.

I fell asleep on the couch pretty early on Friday then woke up sometime in the middle of the night when I remembered I hadn't taken Riley out. Oopsies. I had a headache so bad that I could hardly see straight and was nauseous and my throat was even more sore.

I slept sixteen hours on Saturday and didn't get any of the wedding things I needed to get done accomplished.

I felt a little better  yesterday, at least better enough to run to Ulta and pick this up:

Its foundation for your nails. I used it under my favorite, French Affair by Essie, and I am loving how smooth my nails look. This base coat plus a good quality polish plus ceche vite top coat creates a gel look. I am loving it! Its definitely expensive but in my opinion, everything is relative. (At least this is what I tell Corey.) It may be expensive but its so much less expensive than getting a professional manicure every week! ;)

I'm feeling much closer to normal this morning. I stayed up to kiss Desperate Housewives goodbye. I'm really going to miss that show even if it really was time for it to go. Isn't it the worst when you're sick on a weekend?? It feels like I haven't had a weekend at all and now its time to go back to work!

Corey got back safely from his bachelor weekend in Las Vegas late last night. He and the boys had a great time but he says he's glad to be home. Which is always good to hear! :)

Happy Monday, all!

  1. I'm sorry to hear that you were sick :( What a bummer! I felt really sick on Saturday night unfortunately. Your nails look fantastic though! I'll definitely need to check out that basecoat since I've been doing my nails at home a lot more often. Happy Monday!

  2. Your nails look great, and I hope you're feeling better!

  3. I have french affair on my nails right now! Love it!
    Feel better soon, darling!

  4. Oooo foundation for nails? I have to look into this! Where are you shopping for honeymoon clothes? I feel like I already own everything from VS and need to find new online stores!

  5. So sorry to hear you got sick over the weekend, but girl, LOVE your nail polish! So chic and would actually be a great color for your wedding.

  6. Huh, I'll have to remember that nail foundation! I agree that it'll be cheaper in the long run. :)

And I'm not sure if you ever sent it, but I never got my make-up from you in the giveaway. I just wanted to give you a heads up in case you did send it and I never said thanks! :)

  7. I just bought a base coat from Sally Hansen but I find it just makes the polish peel off in one sheet. Let us know how it holds up!!
    Hope you feel better!

  8. So sorry to hear you are sick. Hope you get better soon.

Thank you for stopping by!
