5 Goals for October

This morning I found it a little hard to believe that it was actually October. Where did the month of September go? And more importantly, where oh where is the fall weather in North Carolina?

September really went by in a blur and it was the first month in recent months that I didn’t accomplish everything on my goals list for the month so let’s start with those things since I’m moving them over to be completed this month.

1. Plan a baby moon with Corey. We have tossed around so many ideas but haven’t gotten anything down in the books. Other events and obligations keep popping up on our calendar and stealing all of our weekends! We do have an idea of what we want to do but trying to get it booked is a whole different story because I won’t be traveling after 36 weeks even by car because I can’t risk having to deliver at a different hospital after having a serious complication with my last delivery. So hopefully that gets all settled in the next week or two!

2. Rework my schedule. I’m revisiting this one from last month because I definitely don’t feel like I’ve really settled into an efficient rhythm for my days yet. I’m almost scared to admit that this one might just be wishful thinking in general as I prepare for Baby Boy to arrive since doctor’s appointments are getting closer together and this season is just busier in general as I finish up the back to school season for Teachers pay Teachers and prepare for the Holiday season with Beautycounter.

3. Finish Madeline’s big girl room makeover. I have sourced everything and purchased everything and now I will start putting it all together this week. Stay tuned to see the “before” and my plans for her little space later this week. Also, the nursery is finished (all the praise hands!) so I’ll be giving you all a mini sneak peek soon.

4. Try out at least three new healthy recipes. I did get so much better about meal prep and planning again last month but fell back on many of my trusted favorites. While there’s nothing really wrong with that, I think the fall is a perfect time to try out some new dishes since I love soups, chili, and fall foods. What are your favorites for this type of year?

5. Visit the pumpkin patch with Madeline and decorate our porch for fall. The inside of our house is decorated (look out for a fall home tour soon) but I haven’t decorated our porch because it’s been so hot that my summer plants are still going and I’m afraid of mums just shriveling to death if I plant them. I think we are going to try to get this checked off the list over the weekend this coming weekend.

Happy October! What do you have planned for the month ahead?

  2. Busy month and yes I feel like September flew by! Like zoom! I need to put the finishing touches on E's big girl room as well. Yes to the pumpkin patch, that is on my list as well.

  3. I can't believe it is already October either. It certainly doesn't feel like it in NC!
